Candy Cane Lane Movie Review: A Festive Extravaganza and a 12 out of 10 Must-Watch!

HEYYYYYY YALL!!!! It's been a minute since I met you here...well, 2 years so more like a million minutes but so much has happened that I can fill you in on later. For now, let's just jump back into the fun!! But this time, let's do it from my new home on the West Coast under a new name: Hollywood's Homegirl :)

I just had an absolute blast at the world premiere of Candy Cane Lane, and let me tell you, it's the holiday movie we've all been waiting for! Attending this spectacular event in Hollywood with my dear friend Amber, a.k.a. Lunar Rae was an experience to cherish. Check out the recap reel:

Directed by Reginald Hudlin, Candy Cane Lane brings together the legendary Eddie Murphy and the delightful Tracee Ellis Ross in a heartwarming tale filled with the spirit of Christmas.

Let's delve into my highlight reel:

Marcus Miller's Mesmerizing Score: The film's music by Marcus Miller is an eclectic fusion that's a treasure trove for any Black Christmas enthusiast. It beautifully resonates with the essence of the season and adds a special sparkle to the entire experience.

Robin Thede's Voiceover Brilliance: Hearing and seeing my 'A Black Lady Sketch Show' mama, Robin Thede, absolutely slay her voiceover role was a true delight. Her talent shines through, enhancing the movie's magic.

David Alan Grier's Legendary Presence: Meeting the incredible David Alan Grier was an honor. His evolution as an actor and comedian is evident, and let me tell you, his on-screen performance is top-notch. Psst... Since he photobombed us, I even serenaded him with a song from my favorite scene in 'Martin'—can you guess which one?

Eddie Murphy's Hilarious Charm: Eddie Murphy is back at it again, delivering laughter and joy with his signature style. And a special shoutout to tuba players worldwide - you'll get the joke once you watch the movie!

Jillian Bell and Tracee Ellis Ross's Outstanding Performances: Jillian Bell's comedic genius and Tracee Ellis Ross's grounded yet uproarious acting choices were sheer perfection. Danielle Pinnock's incredible journey and infectious humor also deserve applause!

This movie is an absolute gem, earning a 12 out of 10 in my book! I'm adding it to my yearly Christmas Movie Classics list to enjoy with my loved ones. Speaking of favorites, here are some of mine:
